I finaly dropped the injectors into a local company for testing (35€ for the 4), they say that they are all fairly shot and in need of major overall, they are quoting me 400€ (this does include the testing).
I have searched around but cannot find any for sale for less than that, I just wondered what you thought before I give them the go ahead, the reputation of the company I am using is good.
Dave bear in mind I am in France

Dave bear in mind I am in France I forgot to mention, that also includes re machining the seats for the bleed tube holes that are not very good.

I told them to go ahead yesterday afternoon, they did a full breakdown in the quote, about 175€ for the parts 60€ for re machining the bleed holes (I think sombody must have used them to try and get the injectors out at some point) 100€ labour and the original testing +vat. It is a local company and I know several people who have used them, so hopefully all will go well. Dave

Dave Hi Injectors are ready to pick up, but I need to get some new washers to go between the injector and the cylinder head, does anyone know the part number or spec? Dave

They will be standard injector copper washers, just measure the end of the injector for diameter and nozzle hole.

Picked up the injectors today, again they asked for the correct part number for the washers, they said that the inner and outer diameter for the washers was not the problem, but that the thickness of the washer can make a big difference to how well the injectors work, presumably because it will affect the position of the injectors in the cylinder. anyway they have given me some that are 2mm thick so I will see how that goes, meanwhile I will look around and see if I can find out anything, I have a friend who works at a ford dealer, but he has tried to look up other things for me and has very limited information available to him on things that old.
Anyway I will try to fit them tomorrow, fingers crossed that all goes well.

2mm sounds right, when I worked at Fords in the seventies we just had a box of washers all the same. We put them in Yorkies, Dover D series and Perkins.

Thanks for that, went to fit everything today and discovered that one of the bypass bolts was cracked, it fell in half when I went to put it in, luckily the people who did the injectors had some, but needed to see the old one to ensure it was the right size, unfortunately they are about an hour away so yet another trip out, I will have another go tomorrow. Do you happen to know the torque settings for the injectors? Dave

Fitted the injectors this morning unfortunately still lots of diesel smoke, so it looks like I still have a problem with the pump adjustment so I will take you up on the previous offer of a chat on the phone, I will send you a pm this afternoon. Dave
