Hi All,
Sadly my camper is now sold, it went through its last CT (French MOT) with no problems and due to the fact that it is registered as a Vintage Vehicle it is valid for 5 years here, so good selling point.
Really pleased about the new owner she is I guess late 20's early 30's but had an identical camper which she loved, sadly she stored it in a barn while she went on an extended holiday to South America and the barn got struck by lightning and burnt down, so she had been looking for a suitable replacement, she also appeared to be very savvy about what she was buying which meant I could tell her things that I wouldn't necessarily tell all buyers, when selling anything like this it is always difficult to try and be honest without running the vehicle down too much.
Anyway I just wanted to thank everyone that has helped with suggestions and advice over the last few years, I will probably keep my account and pop in now and again to see what is happening, but it is unlikely that I will have another transit to pick your brains about.
I am not sure if I am supposed to do this, but the link below goes to a personal drive where I have scans (sadly not very good ones) of various workshop manuals for Mk1 and Mk2 transit with all the variations of engine etc, I will leave it available for about a month, anyone who wants can download them.
Thanks again.
Dave

Oh well, sad news but glad you will still haunt the forum. I dont have any Mk1 or 2 either, in fact I have 4 Mk6 Transits. They are all in their late teens so not exactly new though, my work van is 22 this year

Again thanks for all your help. Dave

"Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated"
Bought the new camper a weekor so ago. The owner had the various things done for the retake of the CT (French MOT) and it passed fine.
But the whole process took a strange turn, Gerard (the owner) wrote a very strange email to my email address but addressed to my wife Jane saying that the camper had passed its CT but after the tragic news does she still want to buy it, I replied saying that it was great it had passed and that we would be down the next day to collect it, but were very puzzled about what he had written, as all was ok here.
He replied saying that he was relieved as he had receved an email in english saying that I had died at the end of march from cancer, which had puzzled him as he had received an email from me on the 1st of april.
Anyway we got to the bottom of it eventually, my email address is dave.widgery@xxx.com and he had sent an email asking a question to davidwidgery@xxx.com (x's to hide my real address) and sadly my namesake died, sad for him but it gave us a laugh.
