hi anybody know how to wire up a ammeter on a mk2 cheers

Goes in the big cable coming from the back of the alternator. Cut the cable and extend the ends up to the ammeter.

hi on the instuctions that came with it ,its going on about connecting to the solanoid which reads a bit complicated so does connecting it up to the big wire from the alternator do the same job,will i need thick wire like from the alternator

It depends on the meter, if it has large connectors then it goes in the big wire.

i think that way from the altinator is to connect a volt meter up i connected it to the solonoid where the batt cable goes,disconnect the batt cable at the solonoid,leaving the other wire on the soloniod, ,connect a leed from the ammetor to the soloniod where the batt cable as been moved together with the other wire that is on that connection, then connect the other leed from the ammeter to the batt leed ,if the ammeter reads the wrong way round ,then change the ammeter wires over, 60 amp cable must be used or it will burn out
