hi,i have a problem with my auto box,all the auto fluid is going into inlet manifold,it,s a capri 2000cc pinto with auto gearbox ,fitted in mk1 transit,does anyone know what would cause this ,thanks

Comet,
Sounds like the vacuum modulator, (it controls throttle pressure and is connected to the manifold by a pipe) if it’s leaking internally oil will be sucked up into the manifold.

Above answer is spot on, the modulator is on the side of the box about halfway up, Just follow the vacuum pipe down from the inlet manifold. Valve is screwed into the box and simple to replace. I think you can still buy them from Fords?? Deffo got them on Ebay, all Ford C type transmissions had them and they are all the same

bought a compleate auto box ,20 quid, changed modulator all ok now,thank for help.
