Can anyone ID this mirror and tell me if it's a proper mk2 transit one please? Note it has a kind of "sun visor" over the top and is made of plastic. Thanks.

to me that looks too modern to be a mk2.if it is i'm afraid it don't look nice,sorry.

No, I agree, and that helps explain why they just don't sit right. I'm after a set of mirrors including the stem part....

occasionally they turn up on the bay and sometimes as separate items.

looks like a Mk4. They briefly had those wind deflectors. Looks nasty on a Mk2 .I'll see what I can do....

is the arm OK when you get the head off it? You could fit sherper heads. Plastic (so no no rust) and not handed. Looks nice on a Mk2 (same era).

The inside of the arm looks to have been drilled to accept a big bolt that pushes through and screws into these mirrors. I don't know whether that has any impact on an original mirror part as I have nothing to compare it to (first Transit). It's always these little things that take time.
