HELP,no spark at plugs, 2000cc pinto in mk1, electronic ignition,when i hold ht lead from coil to engine good spark.

Rotor arm, u said u have spark from coil lead, take the dizzy cap off and put the coil lead to the top of the rotor arm, if it sparks to the arm then it's fecked

i will try that muttley - just tried that no spark - the 2 wires going to the dizzy,how do i check if power there ?

Do u have spark at all? If not then check live and earth at the module, if u have both then module is faulty. That said I have never seen a duff one in 27 years If u have no earth, put in a seperate new one, same for live (ignition controlled of course)

fitted another dizzy with points,doing away with electronic ignition, does it need balast resister

Good idea, you will need a points type coil as well though, buy a 12v coil and u dont need ballast
