Dear all My poor MK1 Transit camper van has sadly been unused since I bought my MK2 Transit just over a year ago so I am considering selling it. It is a really lovely van and has been admired and won trophies at shows and is just the job as a camper, but NOT as a towing vehicle which I was hoping to originally use it for. I tried the 2 ltr V4 engine but again it is not powerful enough to tow, but drives beautifully and will serve someone well who wants a showpiece OR a camper. I am the 2nd owner of it and it has the original 1.7 V4 engine that will go with her. I am after offers in the region of 5,750 pounds for it. It does require a little job on the rear arch and bonnet lip and will be MOT'd before I sell. The paint is not perfect as can be expected but as said, it has won awards one of which at Tatton Park, beating all the lovely VW's there ! The living area is just great, unspoilt, untoughed, original wood, original lino tiles etc. I will upload some photos when I get a chance. Sad I know as it is just a beautiful van, but my MK2 now does the job I really wanted and the MK1 is now surplus to my requirements. Any more questions please feel free to ask. I am advertising here first then I may take to Classic Ford Show 1 June. Genuine enquiries only please. I really do want the van to go to a good home. Van is based in Wrexham,North Wales Thanks Aled Here are some old photos when I bought the van about 4 years ago. The van now has the correct black front panel along the grille. The roofrack in the photo is for sale separately priced 120 pounds. Classic Ford feature.....

Hi Aled
Good luck with the sale. Hope to see your MK2 in the flesh one day to give me inspiration for my own MK2 Jas Hope you do see the MK2 one day Jase.....yours will look fab too I am sure ;-) Sadly today was very sad as I sold my MK1 camper to a good home I didn't even advertise her other than on here and my Facebook profile and arrangements were made to place a deposit without seeing the van. Today the transaction was done and with a heavy heart I let her go (no this is not waffle, it is true ) I met the great new owner today half way......I met him in Mid Wales. I am from the North and he is from the South. It looked like he fell in love with it immediately. Unfortunately the gent has a terminal illness and the van was bought for his wife and children to enjoy at weekends, I really do hope it brings some happiness to them temporarily Anyway, here are a few photos from today..... Yesterday.... Today in Mid Wales.... Tonight in my back garden..... Sorry it is sold guys, and yes it may well be a bad decision but as outlined previously, it would not tow, I hated the thought of changing the engine for a non-original and the MK2 Van turned up for sale at completely the wrong time but that serves the purpose more. Best for the MK1 to go to another good home rather than be unused. Boo hoo Aled

Hi. I have a Mk1 Wayfarer camper. It has a 1700 engine and I am looking to have it rebuilt as a V4 - dont want to cut it about or change front for a V6. Did you find the 2000 as much of an improvement over the original 1700? Thanks. Tony.

That was one of the contributory factors in having to sell it really.
