Following Beryls recent paint, I decided to replace her indicaters. You guys out there with phase1 Mk2s have it easy. The phase2s are a nightmare! The wrap around design obscures the silly spire nut tab things, making it hit and miss when trying to screw the light unit into the wing. At least three times they pinged off the wing. What fool thought that was a good idea?

Yes, what a complete and utter pig to do, mine currently are only held on by two screws a side as I just can't find the holes through the indicator. Perhaps when they were a new van Ford mechanics were sent on a course on how to refit them! Jas

.......and then if the tabs on the wing rust away (likely) what do you do? At least one of ours has lumps of chemical metal with holes drilled in em! Works ok though and the wing is othewise sound. It actually works better cos you drill the holes with the light io place.

the Mk2 Cortina are similar...those tags are often gone and chemical metal is common
