Decided to bite the bullet and keep Duck....a decision hastened by getting a €900 windfall unexpectedly :-)
Secondly, I met a man who says he has some new Mk2 bits in his workshop and he's looking them out for me! Indicators and headlamps at least.

Transit-minded people come and talk as do the Camper set.... I reckon I could have sold Duck if I'd left the sign up a bit longer.

i used a mk5 crossmember with good results when i tidied up my mk2 a few years back. i basically mowed the mk5 crossmember complete from a scrap mk5, separated the mk5 outer section which is different and just got a flat strip of 2mm sheet fitted to the out side which is basically what the mk2 has. the bottom of the mk2 panel can be attached to this using 10mm head self tappers rather than the m6 bolts that originally held it on. it worked out spot on and suprisingly this part seems to be ok in most mk5,s ive come across.
be ready to lose some sweat though as theres a shit load of spot welds holding the two halves of the mk5 crossmember together, lol!!!!
