Hello, My name is Thomas and i now live in Devon.
When i was younger my dad had a mk1 transit camper.
Ive been trying to find photos on the internet but i cannot seem to find any the same.
It was a large camper and it had a big window across the back which opened on a hinge. Also the door to the camper was on the left side near the rear.
I honestly cannot remember if it was infront or behind the rear wheel.
It had a shower in the rear right hand corner which my dad converted to a toilet.
I really just want to see some photos. And maybe in the future purchase one.
Thanks in advance Thomas

Welcome Thomas, the vans are a chassis and to make a camper a body is put on the back. Maybe start looking at a cl style transit camper on the internet and see if there is anything similar you can tell us of?
If its not broken...I can break it!

Hello and welcome to you, you need to look at camper builders that also build caravans. Side door coacbuilt campers are rare and are usually modified caravan bodies

Thankyou people. I was only little hence why im a little sketchy on the details. He told me he bought it as a non runner and wanted to stick a 2000 v4 engine in it from a zephyr.
I can remember that it had a bench seat on the left and also another opposite.
I will definately look at the coachbuilders.
I can always remember walking to get a new tyre for it. It looked like it had truck tyres on it and it had 2 on each rear side.
Thanks again for all your welcomes and advice i will be sure to look thanks again Thomas

Welcome mate. This sounds like a CI (Caravans International) coachbuilt camper based on a twin wheel commercial chassis cab as Muttley said. Have a look at jonochap's thread about Puk. If you can get the reg you can look it up on the DVLA website.

Thanks again. I havnt got any photos im afraid. The only real things i remember was it was huge (but then again i was only young) It had a bit above the cab with a glass panel and as said im pretty much sure the door was behind the rear wheel. Sorry i dont have the reg number.
Ive had a look through most on here and i cannot find one thats the same.
I really appreciate all your tips thanks again Thomas

It looks like this is going to be a difficult one then, especially if the PUK thread or Google Images can't find anything similar either.

Thanks again it's a little like that but my dad's camper was larger and had the rear door by the rear wheel. I also cannot recollect the ridges on the back. Sorry about this
