Just picked up a CB set up for the van, from others experience where is a sensible place to put it - the only place I can see is either mounted on the bulkhead behind the seats or in the (door less) glove box cubby hole. Any ideas?
Got a mag mount 'twig' is there anyway of getting the lead into the van without drilling the bodywork?
Thanks

10-4 good buddy are ya goona be the rubberduck or pig pen?surely you'll get away with just shutting it in the door as the door seal shouldn't damage it.

put it in the door pocket because you are going to want to reach it to change channels if you need to. as for the wire poke it through one of the grommets in the firewall

Lol only convoy I've lead was of irate motorists on the single lane road section back from this years caravan trip down to Cornwall ;-) I was going to be original with a handle so sex machine it is (or maybe not). Not keen on sticking it through the door seal as mine don't leak and water tends to creep in down the cable when i do that. Troppo that sounds like a good location, my door cubby has long gone so I could mount it up OK there be a pretty sensible place to clip the mic as well. Have to work out how to get the cable off the roof neatly and down to the bulkhead to run it through. What I really need is a good solid alloy roo bar to bolt it on to and life would be much easier.

Mine is in my glovebox, got a clip to hold the mike, but if you miss the mike ends up in the passenger step well lol. My aerial cable is out through the door aperture so it can be brought in when needed (like low roofed car parks!) lol My old Ford ain't dead yet, some fool keeps repairing it!
