You will need the Nova import certificate, without that you will not be able to UK register it. Ralph

It might be worth finding out about the history of it, a lot of Maltese vans were reg'd and used in the UK before being exported, which makes life simpler as it may already be on the DVLA system. Like Ralph says you will need to prove where its come from and that duty has been paid (or that it has come in from Europe) - thats the NOVA bit

Another way around the NOVA certificate is to takes a holiday to Malta and you can go to the archives in Valletta with the Maltese logbook and ask for the history they will then give you the original English reg which will still be on the DVLA system. Ralph

Hi all. Been in the country just under 2 years. I've sent my online nova form off the best I can today. Guess I just wait to hear back off them, wouldn't mind a holiday though. Probaly end up bringing more back though!! Plans are to take the toyota diesel out and paint it some sort of pale blue maybe Trying to find original colours? And stick a 300 tdi defender engine on a ldv pilot box in. Just thinking out loud at the moment Any advice would be great And I'm looking for a front bumper if anyone knows to any? Thanks for everything so far

Unless its stuffed i would try it with the Toyota diesel before pulling it apart, it was done for it to work for a living so its probably quite a decent thing + its only a SWB it's not going to need a massive amount of power even when fully loaded.
Tried and tested route is the later 2.5Di and 5 speed box - you can add a turbo for more go.
