Hi All Im Steve from Kent UK. Just joined your forum last week end. Great forum.
I am currently saving for a Mk2 lwb twin wheel to do up. That's if i can find one at the time lol.
Had plenty of Mk3's but always wanted a Mk2. I have a crappy old smiley front at the moment lol.
Hope to get a Mk2 some time early summer.
Steve

Hi and thanks for the welcome's. Yea you are right they seem to be getting very rare now and like you say more expensive.
Haha i did'nt think it would take long on the wedgie lol. I hate the body but the banana is great in it.
When i was in my 20s i worked on quite a few Mk2's as my mate always had them and as soon as he got a new one i fitted an alarm for him as i used to be an Auto Electrician\Mechanic at the time.
Once i have the cash together it looks like it is going to be a struggle to find what i want )-:

Hi Muttley I will be looking for a TWB Van. It will need to get a couple of scramblers in the back plus some gear (-:

Hi, You should be able to get a couple of MX bikes in the back of an empty SWB ok if that will make the search easier - I can get 2 trails bikes in my LWB ok but would probably struggle to get 2 MX'ers in as i've racked mine out on one side for tools so I loose about 1/3rd of the width, have got loads of room lengthwise with the trials bikes though.
Best buy soon as prices just keep going up unless you happen to get lucky

Hi dodgerover Thanks for the reply. I usually have the lwb Mk3 but i recently got a swb to tide me over and i hate it. There is no room to move and things get broken as a result.
The only thing that stopped me from getting a Mk2 in the past is that i had no where to keep it and work on it. Now i have somewhere i can do the work and restore something how i want it.
If i can not find what i am looking for Mk2 wise then i will find an old Mk3 TWB as i am not keen on the newer vans. Not the smiley tho as they are proper YUK lol.

Ask Maltatransit to keep an eye out for you, he imports from Malta and are often ex UK so RHD.

Depends on condition. The other option is to consider a German Fire Van and convert to RHD, though there are far less Mk2s than Mk1s. The conversion is easier on a Mk2 than a Mk1.

welcome to the forum bud, my advice would be spend your money on a good one rather than a ratter,im doing a county mk2 at the moment and she was ruff,im a welder/fabricator so dont have to be paying out for that side of it just my time, biggest problem i found is getting the pannels but your in the right place now to do so as theres plenty of nice people on here with the same passion for keeping the old girls on the road...
