ok one of the vans to test at a new (recommended) MOT station. Failed. OK off to get failures fixed. Re test next day. Passed. Off to PO for tax. Oh the MOTs not on the system (stupidly l left the cert with the van). As l had in the past literally driven round the corner to the PO before and had the pass dhow up l called VOSA to make sure it had gone through. They said nothing against the reg for 2 years (about right before today). Only then did I check the cert. One number wrong. Hear that? Thats the sound of a can of worms being opened........ So back to the test place. They showed me the booking in with the correct reg (taken off the van) and called the DVLA. Doovla are adamant its the testers mistake. After cheching online it turns out there ANOTHER blue Mk2 out there with the reg on my cert. Somehow the crosseyed git at the DVLA has entered the other ones details and ours has no MOT (apparently). Now tje garage has to fax off the V5 (yes FAX) and the DVLA are muttering about a VIC check!!! As you can imagine I am somewhat psssed off by now. After many calls and much pacing the DVLA are telling the garage to do a duplicate. WTF?? Wont that be the same? As I watched the same number came up on the screen but what came out of the printer was correct!! SO how did that happen? And what are the odds?

I had a new plate made for my bike. I had to take all the documents and all 16 great-grandparents to the place that made the plate.
They out the wrong number on the plate. I had it MOT'd later. DVLA didn't notice. I escaped a speeding fine with the wrong number on the back.
