All, I am a bit of an interloper as I'm not the proud owner of a Mk1/2 Transit. What I do develop though is someting quite interesting . . . see link. So, why am I here? Well the interesting engine uses a Ford York piston and connecting rod at the bottom end of the arrangement. Why the Ford York piston and rod . . . well, the piston has loads of material on it which we are able to machine to take lip seals (rather than piston rings) to keep the oil in the cranckase and stop it misting up and onto the mirror camera arrangement. My problem is that Ford no longer support the York engine with spares, as far as I can tell, and although I can still get the pistons the rods seem to be conspicuous by their absence. Other than going second hand andd scouring the usual places is anyone aware of a secret stash of rods somewhere that I can tap into? Sorry for slow reply . . . thought I'd get a EMail when someone commented, Doh! Strange, the link works for me when I try it from the earlier post,, not sure what's going on there. As to quantities . . . what have you, I would be keen to buy a few up so we have some in stock whilst I find a more recent replacement. I'lll investigate the DI route as well. I have been working through the Ford online parts catalogue and have some options from there as well. Thanks for the replies, I'll check back quicker this time.
