Hello guys, the names Phill. I was in the market for a small van for the weekends to take the kids quad bikes out. Whilst shopping around last summer I saw an old mk1 transit pickup that Victor had got in from Malta that looked like a fun project. I went over to see him and if you don't know him he is a gent, true to his word it needed a lot of work. In the garage he had a swb mk1 van project he'd already started and I thought that'd suit me better. I made him an offer and we shook hands and that was it. I had got me a mk1 transit swb petrol v4 with a tailgate and so the journey begins! I'll be doing a sort of journal as and when I get the time to upload the photos and will definately need you guys help along the way.

Thank you, I just gotta figure out how to upload photos and where to put the thread and I'll be there. One guy told me; first you get a mk1 transit then you get yourself a welder. I thought mine was quite clean, how bad can it be?

I thought mine was quite clean, how bad can it be? If your lucky.... not bad But they were workhorses and were often bodged and bodged again to keep them going and earn their owners money. I hope yours is a good one. If not Ralph will sort you out with most of what you need.
