Welcome to the forum! I think you are our first member in Malaysia. Do you know if your van is an import or was it assembled there?

Yay. I was a kid in Johore Bahru. Back in the sixties there was lots of interesting RHD cars floating around. I remember a red MGTC in the family. What is the rust like...photos?

Hi Guys! Thank you for the warm welcome! Just ran into my first problem today at the road transport department, the registered owner is a deceased, his son is the one selling the vehicle. Got some legal issues to take care off now. But ill do whatever it takes to bring this baby home. Already paid 50% to the seller lol. Dont know if it's an import or local assembled. Will find out more tomorrow. Here is the picture of this beauty. Went half of the whole malaysia to look for it. Probably the only one worth restoring. Oh no... cant figure out how to upload picture here...

You need to upload the pics to a host like photobucket.com mate. If yours is imported we could help you with the model.

I just got the baby back to my place and done with the legal work. And after cleaning up the interior, there are serious rust problems. I will take more photos tomorrow of the rusted and eaten up areas of the vehicle. But below is the condition of the vehicle when I found it. On the paper it says that it is a 1972 V100, Local Assembled. Mostly rusted and holes are the front doors, driver cab floors, body floor, lower sides and back doors. Also the engine and gearbox need replacement, dashboard need replacement, there are no seats

Believe me those pics don't look too bad! The early vans are made of thicker metal than the later and modern vans. When you say the dashboard needs replacing, do you mean the dials and clocks or the metal?
