Hello Everyone I am new to the forum and new to being the proud owner of a MK1 Transit Chassis Cab/Pickup She is a real beauty (well I think so) with a great chassis and pretty good body work considering some of the Transits I have seen Please have a look at some of the photos below and let me know what you think She is a V4 Essex and only done what appears on the speedo to be 84k miles When she was dropped off by the seller, he claimed that it had not run for 10 years but I cant confirm that. Despite this I was able to get her running within a week and she is running so smooth I just cant resist nipping outside to start her up and just sit there. Its great Any way, I am delighted to finally have one of these vehicles and be part of this group and will be appealing to your kindness and expertise over the coming months for advice on what I should be doing and how to do things etc I look forward to hearing from you all Paul

Hi All
Thanks for all your comments To answer a couple, Sleepy, Im going to put on a tipper body but unsure if its going to be a custom made wooden body or a standard production aluminium body. Leaning towards a wooden body to keep some weight over the rear axle for when I upgrade the engine MuttleyMK2, Im fairly sure its original as all the panels are consistent with the amount of wear and tear and the amount of rust that they have (very little) and also each panel shows the signs of the colour change that the pick up has gone through. I think I am fairly lucky on getting one this good, however I had been searching for a considerable length of time I will keep a log as I go along detailing progress but dont expect it all soon. I envisage this project taking some time
Thanks guys
Paul

Wood or a period steel tipper would look good. good luck with your project
