Im on vaication in my mk1 camper - 76 and the gearbox is acting up:/ when warm 1st and reverse is almost impossible to get in with the engine on.. Im guessing it might be on the low side on fluid since i didt have time to check it before departure and have never changed it before.. So my question to you lads is, what oil should i use?! Im just going to top it up now, and change when i get home.

And that one is transmission oil limited slip. Not sure oil is the problem, might be i need to adjust clutch cable play. Any guides avalible?

For the oil try agricultural supply places( only place I've been able to get 'old grade' oils, still use in some tractors etc) while in France/Spain etc.,short of that its eBay from UK classic car suppliers. For clutch don't know, mines rod operated!(only adjustment is at clutch fork) ( original oil is full mineral)

Hang on what gearbox is it? If it's a 5 speed type 9 then they need a special synthetic gear oil or changes become virtually impossible unless you stop the engine.

Sounds like all it needed was a clutch adjustment
