I have got a mk2 transit and wondered if anyone has done a common rail diesel conversion.
mine was orignaly a diesel, but when the lower emmission zone came in had to convert it to petrol to keep it within the m25
I put a 2litre pinto lump in, but it only does about 17mpg
I am going to need to start doing a lot more milliage, was going to sell it, but then thought about putting a 1.8 turbo 8v transit connect engine in it
any info, welcome

Anything diesel will still not be LEZ compliant, what you need is an LPG conversion and a V6

yes but it is now registered as a petrol lol. Best you forget to tell the DVLA of any further changes.... Seriously, the option to change to a compliant engine has been withdrawn. So to sum up, it's not really about the environment, it's all about them wanting you to buy a new van.

if it a modern diesel engine, then will be allowed No not unless you pay a lot of money for emmisions control stuff and then have it retested every 6? months

You can get the particulate trap for the DI. I know of a Mk2 icey that has one. It cost £1500 and the RPC test has to be done every year.
