anyone know how fast my van goes ? its a mk2 swb panel van with a 2 liter pinto 205 block and twin choke weber and a 4 speed gear box. not sure how accurate the speedo is as it goes up to 90 mph and ive had that showing so pretty much went off the clock just wondering how fast these go then ? i did notice i was overtaking everyone lol

Yes I have seen 'more than' that's more than the speedo will show. Your best bet is to use a SatNav that shows your actual speed.

I think if I was sufficiently mechanically unsympathetic then I could probably wind mine up enough to top 90, don't think the old pinto would last pulling those rpms for long though

Like fred said use a sat nav for an accurate speed down hill on a motorway you should hit around 90-100 after a distance. uphill it's a another story :-) It all depends on your diff ratio as well my 1.6 pinto can hit 80 quite easily on the flat or downhill

I used to kill a pinto a year doing motorway work with a four speed. Then we got MT75s!

Think a LHD speedo cluster will make it go a lot faster if you believe all you read.
