That's cheating! It's is however what I would have done as a quick fix if mine was loosing water. Big chunk of gasket was missing between cylinder 3&4 I'm hoping it was just bad luck and not a sign the block needs a skim....head should be perfect it was skimmed last year. Any thoughts on retorqueing the torx type head bolts after a few heat cycles? Went with a Payen gasket as that's what I could get.

If your not sure where tdc is on the crank pulley set it near enough as you think tdc is and get some washing up liquid and make a bubble over the plug hole on no one .Rock the crank till the bubble is at its highest point
