I usually get shouted at for saying such things but can you take the outside wheels off while it's on the trailer? Yep I have done that, works well! Had to unbolt the flares once too!

Thanks for your offer,will the front axle go past the wheel arches on the trailer? See a couple of nice vans but they seam to be the far side of Germany/Austria. Which makes it a bit of a longer trip.

i don't think the front will be any wider than the swb, so don't see it being a problem with outside wheels removed on back axle
