Hi all
I've now decided to put a blacktop 2.0l zetec lump in my mk1 bull nose. I need some info on the best axles to use for braking and quater mile times. Also I have some 14 x6j slot mags what tyre size would you recommend?
I'm going to fabricate everything and build the van before stripping and painting so pinto engine is Co. ING out tomorrow and zetec coming out of the mondeo I brought so everything can be aligned up.
How do I add pictures?
I have a mt75 box is there a a difference in gearing on them I can tell

Unfortunately, 14" tyres are rare and hard to find many large sizes, also they won't be load rates for a van. 225/60/14 would be ideal if you can find some but they won't be cheap. Better to go for 15" wheels.

Depending on how close it sits to the bulkhead you might not need the usual water rail.

My MOT centre still checks that I have proper van tyres and they know it never carries any heavy weight

Insurance companies frown on car tyres on vans

Yep tyres must be rated to max potential weight of van to be legal here, not just what it weighs when you get stopped. You could downplate the van to get around it though.

Oh, they are tougher over there than they are in NZ! There are some very good van tyres in 14", Continental Vanco, Hankook Vantra and Michelin Agilis. I have Vantra's on another set of rims, and they are very good tyres. 195R14, which will fit 6" rims, but they do wider sizes too.,

Thanks for tyre sizes I have ordered a 225 60 14 to do a trail fit I have to fit adaptors to take the 5x120 wheel I'm just worried about the offset at mo.
I've stumbled upon a problem. Which gearbox cross member do I need for the mt75 box? And prop fitment I just don't have a clue? Will my standard rear axle be ok for now running a zetec turbo?
I'm looking at some ldv calipers for front but am unsure what discs will fit or will stand Ards do the trick

LDV calipers will fit standard solid discs if you run the calipers without the spacers.
