Hi rick! I think you are looking for a crossmember when you say cradle. Not sure what bracket you want though.

Did you get the prop with the box? They're different.
I've agreed to buy one too, I just need to ask someone who is fairly local to me with extensive transit experience if they would like to fit it once it arrives and I get a prop.
Fingers crossed I've got the right h/d bellhousing on my 4 speed to swap over

I've been off this for some months mainly due to a house move and other things getting in the way so I'm trying to refresh my memory with it I'm no expert and the info I've collected is from the net and the guys and girls on here. My intention is to have the prop lengthened I've found all the bits I've needed very hard to come by in fact I very nearly sold it at one point 🙁 That's the bracket I'm talking about I've never actually seen one but I'm assuming that's the one I need.....i do have a "crossmember" :confused: but it's seen better days and I'm not 100% if it's the right one

Does your box not have that bit, its the support for the overdrive. It alows you to fit to the crossmember, I doubt you will find one seperately from the box but I will check my bits

Thanks I have the bracket for it that allowed fitting to the mk1 with the v4 but I've full on decided to go for putting the pinto in now so hence not having the correct bracket.
I was lucky to find that picture with a Google search to point me in the right direction.

If it goes tits up with the bellhousing do you think the engineering place can get the next one right?

Od boxes are heavy duty. Some pinto boxes (I've been told) are heavy duty and bellhousings will swap. Non HD ones the holes need machining a bit. The engineering place didn't get the last one for Fred's van quite right first time

I see you had me worried a could have another problem for a minute I bought a bell housing that was on eBay and it's bolted straight on so I've maybe been lucky

I can do yours DR Rick, if you are fitting the pinto with a flat front you will have to alter the gearbox crossmember as the engine will have to be further back.

I'd need the gear to do it first mate I've offered it up and there's not much room left to go backwards with the engine. I may have to look into making or getting the bracket made if anyone has any pictures of the one in looking for it would help me no end
