I did take sump off and push the rods with hands didn't feel any play but how much play do you need to be abale to hear a knock ? Also what's in the small ends ? I can't find any bushes on eBay

Any smoke? Could it be the rings?

You don't need much play, a big end is usually a pretty unmistakable deep knock though. The video sounded like top end, but the quiet when cold and worse when hot sounds like a bearing.

had the sump off again today had a good look and removed some caps the shells look as good as new and the crank is mint to cant feel any play anywhere down there i did undo the clutch cable and check the trust bearing its deffo gone and needs changing the noise seems a little quieter with the clutch cable taken off but i cant think what in the bell housing clutch wise would make a rattle sound ? it was the same when pedal was up or down till cable was taken off

You seem to of checked everything engine wise( which most of it you've rebuilt) but not had the gearbox out to look at the clutch, which sounds as if it's slowly disintegrating from your posts. I'd look there if you can't see/find anything with engine but know clutch is shot, until that's sorted your throwing potential noise from dodgy clutch into the picture, but trying to find fault elsewhere.
