Hi
It never rains but it pours, trying to get the camper in to fit state to sell and more problems, when engine is hot I am starting to get a flicker from the oil pressure light on tickover but the oil was a bit low, anyway I changed oil and filter as it needed doing and thought the problem had gone away but it did it again today so I am guessing that it is either oil pump or big ends unless anyone has any other ideas.
I realy dont want to spend any more money on her and from looking at the manual i think doing either of the above jobs is more than i am prepared to do.
I am going to try and renew the CT (French MOT) becouse it is now classified as a vehical de Collection (french vintage status) you only need to do this every 5 years but it has to be less than 6 months old for a new owner to register it, it would then at least show that the rest of it is in reasonable condition.
Lastly I replaced the engine mountings and since then I am getting a lot more engine vibration especially on tickover, do you think it is due to the new mountings just being hard and this will settle down in time, or should i slacken them off jack the engine and reseat it again.
Any comments much appreciated.
Dave

Have you done an oil pressure test, perhaps try a new oil press sender. Does the light go out as soon as you increase the revs? Hard to explain but if you rev the engine, switch off and immediately turn the ignition back on, how soon does the light come back on? Vibration could be metal to metal somewhere?

Thanks for the reply, i did wonder about the pressure switch but have a sneaky suspicion it isnt, i dont have a pressure gauge but a switch is only 15€ so worth a try, i have seen loads advertised, do you happen to know what pressure it should be? The light dosent come fully on it just flickers when on tickover and then only when hot, like after i have slogged the 2.5km up the hill to my place. As far as the mountings it is not a metalic sound, i think becouse i did one side then the other, and i had to take all the brackets off to unscrew the old ones, the motor might not be quite square in the middle, i will try just loosening them and jack the engine a bit to try and reseat the motor. Also a friend also said when he changed his mountings on his car it took a while for the rubber to soften up a bit.

Good idea on the rubbers, oil pressure will be about 5-10 psi at idle hot.

Possibly the later Di one would fit, they have the same block.

Thanks, i did manage to order one from a local spares place but havent managed to get around to fitting it yet, but also decided that the tickover speed was too low, since I have upped that I haven't seen the problem again, i guess that the pressure is a bit low and at a low tickover it was exhibiting itself.
