Just when I think its all over, you post up something interesting. I went to the Southampton plant in 2013 to see the last of the Mk7’s being built. Fantastically interesting place, thanks Peter.

Went to Langley a couple of times on courses in the early 70s, remember walking through the D Series Production Line on the way to the Canteen, but don't remember seeing any Transits, either they weren't on the same route or they had gone by then.

Langley was only light commercials, D Series, then Cargo. Spooky story, I was driving one of my Cargos along the M4 back in the nineties, the truck lost all power and ground to a halt. It would not restart. I happened to notice we had stopped right in view of the Langley plant which was being torn down. I was saddened but hey ho, I tried the truck again and it started first time! Mark of respect?
