hi i ve got a mk2 transit fitted 2.5DI engine and type 9 gearbox i ve heard there pretty bad boxes for breaking without warning ( like mine just has ) just like to know hard is to change it to a MT75 box any advice or if someone has a spare type 9 box i would be grateful

welcome mate. I am really not impressed with the type9. Its not really suited to the load a yransit puts on it. If you can, get a donor Mk5 then you will have all the bits you need. This includes the front prop and crossmember. You need to cut a new hole in the floor to the right of the original. Or rather extend the original off to the right. You can close up the gap with a plte. It doesnt have to be welded as that area of the floor isnt structural.

hi have you got any pictures of this coverting this as i have a mt75 gearbox but i am unsure if it will all fit properly

My understanding is that a type 9 is not the best match for a diesel. Just changed a 4 speed for a 9 on a pinto and its much smoother but has lost some mmmmph...
