Hi, im about to start another Mk2 project.
Im struggling to decide what route to take, as i prefer working/restoring classics to driving them so i would probable sell the project after a few months of use. My question is what would be worth more out of the 2 options below and what one would have the better market to sell to?
1. Mk2 LWB recovery beavertail twin wheel, di turbo all restored up nice 2. Mk2 SWB twin wheel, all alloy dropside body, di turbo
I would probably have more use for the recovery myself but just cant decide what to do.
Cheers,auld

i'd imagine on the selling side i'd say the recovery truck option would be your best bet but then again if the pick up looked ubber cool then that but recovery first. one thing though you MUST keep us upto date with the resto with pics.

yep I would say recovery too. Theres always a market for a classic truck. Areally good one would probably find a market with the rally car owners.

Hang on. Just seen you are selling a body!! Are you planning to convert the SWB into a recovery? Personally I would resto the truck then look for a LWB CI camper with a ahagged body and save it by converting to a beavertail. That way another one will be saved. Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Hi Fred, yeah you got it correct. Im going to convert the red mk2 into a LWB recovery.
Im wanting it on the road for the summer so wouldnt have time to do 2 restos by then, also ive got a recovery with a fucked cab that wont be back on the road so kinda keeping one on the road anyway!
Cheers,auld

yeah but you find a well looked afyer camper with a damp body and half the job is done. Gotta be easier than extending a chassis and swapping axles!
