1700 Cologne V4 engine, done 12000 kilometres. Has had uprated steel timing gears fitted and electronic ignition conversion kit. Also 4 speed gearbox. Engine can be heard running before I remove it. £250. :-)

Hi RP, I see you're giving up with the German lump then. I stand to be corrected but I have been led to believe it is the same V4 as were fitted to the old Saab 96s. It might be an alternative route you could take to find a buyer. Good luck with the sale. What are you planning to replace it with?

Lol I've been using the van quite a bit trying to tolerate it but I've had enough. Its ok using the van locally but taking it further afield is hard work lol! I'm fitting a cologne 2.9 efi v6 and 5 speed box, should liven it up a bit.

That'll make it a bit livelier ;D Are you going to cut the bulkhead or put a diesel front on it?

I'm going to chop the the bulk head, the minimal amount I can get away with to fit it in, I'm not a lover of the bull nose front and I want it to look like it hasn't got a diesel or v6 engine in it. Orginaly I didn't want to cut the van at all.

Engine sold to a Saab owner. Gearbox is still available if someone needs it.

The info I got about the lump fitting Saabs was right then? I don't think these gearboxes are particularly sought after though I may well be proved wrong ;D

Yes mate, you were right with the info. I also checked by surfing on the old world wide web and wickipidea came up trumps with what else was fitted with the cologne v4.
If no one ends up not needing the box I'll weigh it in, shame really as its an excellent gearbox but I guess they just ain't desirable.
