I watched vwry carefully as a deisel specialist removed the immobiliser from our newly bought pump (came with a DI we were fitting). To prepare he produced a 2lb hammer from under the counter. The procedure was to smack the immobiliser with the hammer twice and it fell off.

Not knowing much about diesel conversions , is the wiring an easy thing to sort as that's my only real concern

Mega easy all you need for it to run is a live to the stop solenoid on the pump. Or the really old school way is to replace the electronic stop with a manual one and connect it to the choke cable - then pull the choke out to stop the engine. Depending on what you get the engine from it may/ may not have a flame start, which will need wiring up.

Just use the original positive feed to the coil and take it to the stop solenoid. If the pump has a PATS module then simply remove to metal cover and you will find the stop solenoid inside
