I thought its about time i uploaded a picture of my MK2. She looks lovely in pictures and only looks nice from one side. Still not complete, The last two days i've managed to paint the roof and the side. All with a roller! I will be putting the white roof rack back on. I plan to have her all black apart from the front grill, that will be staying white. Obviously keep the wheels the same, they were made by the lovely Andy AKA Muttley. Should be all done within the next two weeks! After that she will be having a deep clean inside, shes filthy. AND RUSTY. I think if i stamped hard enough on my drivers mat my foot would go through, might give it a go one day if i run out of petrol.

fuck ive just noticed that black smudge on them, thats definately not meant to be there. I am doing a really quick job with this black paint, just slapping it on like a mad man in my alley way! i might just use a roller and a brush all over the van its only 13.99 for a can of black metal paint from wickes. So far one and a half cans has done all that. Will need another coat on the side though! Or i might do the first coat with the roller and brush then get a nice finish with some cans. What do you think will be best? Also once ive painted it is there anything i need to add to the coat to give it a bit more protection? wax?

stick with the roller. The trick is to use 2. Apply with one and the go over with a dry roller to pop any bubbles and take off any excess to prevent runs. Runs are also are caused by using a brush and too much paint.
