Well i sold this van last sat, and bugger me they text me this morning saying it broke down last night!!
Couldnt get it into any gear even with the engine off, there was apparently quite a bit of fluid over the box.
Im pretty gutted actually as ive never had a days trouble with the van for 6 years and it packs up as sooon as i sold it, it make me look like i was trying to get rid of a load of trouble.
Not sure what it could be It has an overdrive box which i fitted a couple of years back and a new clutch assembley

What can you do? Not your fault although you are bound to feel somewhat responsible. It has to be selectors if it won't engage even with the engine off, or the gear lever broke??

Just been in touch with Madmark and hes says he had trouble like this with a mk3 gear lever in a mk2, and i did fit a mk3 gearlever in it. Hes says he fitted old lever back in and it was fine. i shall suggest this to them. I have got a another overdrive gearbox if they need spares and will gladly give them that.

It was a mk3 overdrive gearlever. Seems it has been sorted now. She recons she might have jammed it into reverse too quickly and got it stuck, how? I dont know...

Its worth that all day long. I paid £4500 for it 6 years ago and i must have spent 3k on it over the years. i replaced everything i could on it, springs, shocks, gearbox, clutch, prop, fuel tank. New carb, alternator, starter, rad, fan motor. Then it had new door handles and door mirrors and new wiper arms. The interior had new carpets and floor coverings, new upholstery to seats and curtains, new mk 7 seats etc etc, and i had the door bottoms reskinned and the cab resprayed. I sold it cheap at £4500, but just wanted it gone as i needed the space.
