Is there a reason the standard fan does not fit back on now the DI is in . Or is this normal and I just need to fit a electric one ?

is it hitting the crossmember? That will be cos its a Mk3 and its on the bottom pulley.

Yep it is hitting the crossmember , I assume the answer is an electric fan ?

You can actually cut the finds down and not have the engine suffer! Otherwise you need a different pulley and belts so it can be bolted to the water pump.

It's strange close the engine is out of a T reg . The only other problem I have found is a small clearance issues between the inlet manifold and the brake servo as it's LHD

If you fit a MK2 Di water pump (York is the same) u can fit the fan on it and clear the crossmember

It's all good , I have a Mondeo sat waiting to break as the zetecs going into my cortina and the radiator has the inlets at the right orientation and a electric fans so I'm going to try and fit that
