TBH I havent looked. I think there used to be a spinning vent in the back and the roof just looks like a fibreglass/wood sandwhixh

I think there used to be a spinning vent in the back and the roof just looks like a fibreglass/wood sandwhixh I daresay the vent either had screws that went into the wood to hold it in place, or bolts through both skins. In either case, expanded polystyrene would be trong enough, so they used plywood a the strong points.
You can soon tell if there's polystyrene in the Fred, tap it, no polystyrene, it sounds hollow; polystyrene, and it sounds like a muffled drum.
