Just saying Hello to all.
ive had a few mk2 s and 1s over the years but id not seen this forum ??
i have a 1980 lwb twin sliding door as well as this truck, ive only seen single sliding door vans ?
I am just about to start restoring it, i say "it" which is my 1980 mk2 chassis cab, that was a horsebox originally !
To say it was over engineered was an understatement,
damp heavy duty timber that had it sat on the bumpstops.
I had great pleasure removing and burning it all !
I love standard transits but With this i wanted to do a custom pick up that was standard looking (ish) but underneath far from it !
Originally i had decided to use an american v8 of some sort,
However after a talk with myself and a look on ebay, i found someone selling a mercedes c63 v8 motor from a 2011 rear end smash !
"That would be an interesting engine in a transit being 465 hp from the factory" i thought
So i got it !
im using a 6 speed manual box, and running jag XJR supercharged running gear which should be up to the job,
the one thing im struggling to find are the opening quarter window rubbers ?
mine are dry and split and i would love to keep them as they are cool and ive not seen many on a mk 2
if anyone has any that they bought and kept for years please let me know,
i will get some photos up for you of the old workhorse as it is, and as the rebuild progresses.
Thanks

When you look at the photo screen you will see a box marked img, copy that code and paste. Pbucket varies on how it works depending on what you're using it on

Cheers mate, she ll look even better when i get her how i want, The truck was powder blue originally, you can see in the engine bay the factory blue coming through, This is the colour im going with. Some nice wide wheels on the back, skinnies on the front, Should be good.
