Welcome mate! After Christmas is a gpod time to look. People are skint so theres bargains to be had! Cheers think I'm going to hold fire on the mk1 for a bit I was at a car show today and got chatting to a fella who knows a fella that has a rare mk3 savage cortina in storage but he's taken my number and is going to speak with his friend to see if he will sell its a two door and if it's a genuine savage it will be a huge find as there's only a small handful left in existence but not going to hold my breath just keep my fingers crossed

Welcome Steve.
I'll be doing shows and festivals in my van this year, notably the Three Counties Ford Group show. I do know a guy with a mk1 for sale but it needs a complete restoration with a decent amount of welding.

Tell me more dave how bad is it and a ruff price what sort of van is it I wouldn't mind a camper or a panel van bus

It's a standard early van with it's original V4. Best if I catch up with him again and get pics as it does need a number of new cosmetic and structural panels welding in and then a full paint.

Welcome along Steve. Is there a clue in your user name? Why not consider an ex German firevan? There are quite a few about at not too silly prices and the bodywork is nearly always in far better condition as they are normally very low mileage and have been garaged most of their lives.

Hi andy thanks for the welcome I have a lhd mk3 cortina that was registered first at new in 1972 ,a uk car from new the fella who ordered it was a man called mr spanner and he ordered it European spec because he was going over to switserland of a few yrs he returned to the uk in the mid 70's and owned the car all the way up to 2008 when he had a car drive into the side of him a chap who I had just met and bought a car off a few months earlier acquired the lhd from mr spanner and I bought it from him month after so I'm the 3rd owner I'm in the process of shipping a uk car from Athens Greece and to be honest it's a ball ache so I don't intend buying any more cars from Europe lol i have however today been and knocked at a chaps door where this lives round the corner from my home and he said he wants to sell it's all original with no welding been done or needing any shall I start a new thread lol
